Who has time to make real stock? This recipe from Yik Wee makes use of beef stock cubes and is ready in 30 minutes flat.



2 large onions, sliced
3 cloves garlic
2.5 beef stock cubes
2 litres of water
ground black pepper
50 - 100g beef cubes (optional)
knob of butter

1. Boil 1/2 pot (about 2 litres) of water with beef cubes.
2. Sauté garlic and onions in butter until transparent and golden brown.

Add onions to the stock and boil for another 15 - 30 mins. Add beef cubes when the soup is almost done.
