Basil Alcove
I intended to leave this as a comment but for some reason I couldn’t so…
Kim and I went to Basil Alcove at Fortune Centre this evening to check out the place after reviews on Chubby Hubby and AsiaOne. I’m no expert on fine dining… I couldn’t tell the difference between parmesan and romano on my pasta but I really enjoyed the experience at Basil Alcove. The place is quite a paradox… No frills fine dining.
I had shrimp and pesto pasta, which had a generous serving of prawns. Kim had chicken and mushroom aglio. However, my favourite dish had to be the tomato bruschetta, which came with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.
Food was too good we didn’t have time to take pictures. You can check out pictures of the food here though. We’ll definately go back again, since half the menu was unavailable by the time we arrived.

Time For Heroes
Did you see the stylish kids in the riot
We were shovelled up like muck
Set the night on fire
Wombles bleed truncheons and shields
You know I cherish you my love
But there’s a rumour spread nasty disease around town
Caught round the houses with your trousers down
A headrush in the bush
You know I cherish you my love
Oh how I cherish you my love

It’s funny cos it’s true
Just read this in STEP, I love it!
What’s the difference between a designer and a hooker?
Nothing. Both are highly paid for feigning enthusiasm and getting f**ked.

Keeping it Simple
2 interesting design-related articles: A fairly new one about the virtues of whitespace in A List Apart, and an article from 2005 about The Beauty of Simplicity in Fast Company by Google’s Marissa Mayer.
