Shopping @ Chubby Hubby

Went over to Chubby Hubby’s house to help them make loveletters. And I came back with pineapple tarts, kueh bangkit, the love letters, and even some bak kua! All homemade by P’s chubby hubby! (Except the bak kua, of course, but I won’t put it past him to try that one day.)

All the Chinatown goodies without the crowds!

As for me, over the weekend, I made 230 tarts to give to my mom, and my aunt in Canada, etc. Too bad I used up most of the homemade pineapple jam in a Wicked disaster.

Does Chubby Hubby know Kueh Lapis? It’s something that i would like to make.

Hello Amy! Long time no see on the blog.

Not sure if he knows kueh lapis. But the love letters turned out very well. We finished them already.

I am wondering if my neighbour will make some butter cookies for me. Remember the yummy melt in your mouth ones? I only get to eat it once a year!

I made 4 batches of pineapple tarts and almond sugee cookies over the weekend. Would you like some almond sugee cookies?

KC made the second batch of love letters and they turned out soft. He said it could be due to the coconut sugar he used. But the patterns came out more prominently though.

He made kueh lapis once - quite a disaster, and very oily.

Perfect recipe for chicken pie also.

Randy’s a fast learner.

So in addition to all the pineapple tarts, etc, I also made
mandarin konnyaku,
gula melaka and coconut agar agar,
cornflake crunchies (very yummy straight out of the fridge, but they didn’t stick together at room temperature), and
chocolate almond meringues (takes two hours to bake, but very light, crunchy and low-fat!)
