The Wedding

Less than a month to the wedding, and so far, we’ve confirmed the dresses, the cake, the JP (Justice of Peace), the venue, the caterer, the wines and the photographer. Phew!
Still on the to-do list: Jimmy’s suit, the favours (we already know what they are), the flowers, the decor, and the (gasp!) invitation cards, which to us are optional. There no time and no budget for letterpress, so I came up with this. But we’re still trying to figure how how to present it.

How lovely, congrats! And I love the design of your invitation, esp that darling little doggie! What font did you use for the main text?
Posted by: JellyGirl at March 11, 2005 09:53 AMThanks, you guys.
The font for the body text is PMN Caecilia, which has a nice lowercase ‘k’.
congratulations on the nuptials :) that’s a beautiful invite.
Posted by: stef at March 15, 2005 03:56 AMCongratulation Karen! What a romantic setting, the Botanic Gardens. So is this card getting mailed, hand delivered as is, or slipped inside a plastic doggy bone?

Posted by: Cheshire at March 22, 2005 07:18 AMUpdate: I just found out that Peter Matthias Noordzij’s Caecilia after his wife, Marie-Cécile Noordzij-Pulles.
Posted by: Karen at March 28, 2005 09:46 AMBut also after the wife of some Roman emperor who had her moved out of the house when she got some really nasty disease or something.

So cool, so sweet, so lovely, thats what I imagine your wedding will be ;)
I’m married and had a lovely wedding party. Now, I’m looking forward to a beautiful party (preferably outdoor) for my baby’s first birthday. Botanic Gardens is my choice too.
Looking forward to your pretty pictures. Hope you post them.
Congratulatiions!
> But also after the wife of some Roman emperor who had her moved out of the house when she got some really nasty disease or something.
That’s what Bringhurst mentioned when he wrote about Caecilia, but he didn’t say that the font was named after Sulla’s wife. I got confused too. Then in one of the typophile quizzes, someone have a hint about a font being named after the designer’s wife, and it turned out to be Caecilia.
As Butthead would say:
“Hey, you’re paying attention.”

Snog Blog has a new header! I still like the previous typeface used though…
Karen, your wedding is tomorrow. Are you nervous? Hope all goes well!
Posted by: Beverly at March 31, 2005 10:28 AMHi… Can I know the name of your JP?
I don’t know which one to choose for my wedding solemnization in June.. Hope that you can recommend..thanks..
The JP’s name was Eric Cheong. He was quite a sport. Came really early and stayed throughout the dinner and entertained us with stories from his youth!
The wedding went really well, aside from some relatives who could not find the place. Photos are ready and I should post them. I don’t think it’ll be anytime soon though.
Posted by: Karen at April 18, 2005 08:50 PMDear Karen, I called up Mr. Eric Cheong and he’s available on my wedding day! I was so happy, cos the previous three JPs I called up were taken & I almost freaked out. Haha.. Thanks..
I would like to see the doggies at your wedding.. I love dogs!
Yeah, none of the other JPs wanted to renew our vows either. You’ll enjoy having him. He’s really good fun and I thought his speech was really nice as well.
In the end there were three dogs at the wedding. Look out for the piccies.
