Sea & Sky
The sea does not meet the sky
They kiss only in our mind
In that space that recedes forever
Where we make them lovers together
When I first found this, I loved it to death, marvelling at its accuracy and all that. This morning, however, in the sweltering Great Gatsby heat, it sounds little more than a grammatically correct rhyme you could find on Japanese candy or gum or stationery or containers or drinks or…, you get the drift.
