An Army of Me

Tomoko Sawada must have taken on hundreds of different personas to create this collection of photo booth portraits ID400, which later became full-length studio shots OMIAI which later became a collection of fully staged and styled setups, which form her exhibition, titled Costume.

Chameleon-like transformations are not new, what is interesting here is that “she set out to explore this powerful interchange between status, identity and work as symbolized by different uniforms.”
