The Bar So Far

Cleaned the house and now it’s completely spotless. Save for the kitchen lights, the windows and the wardrobe. Also took the opportunity to take stock of the bar. Here’s what we’ve accumulated so far:

Absolut Vodka
Absolut Vanilla
Archer Peach Schnapps
Bailey’s Irish Cream
Beefeater Gin
Choya 1.5 bottles
Cinzano (Vermouth) Extra Dry
Cinzano (Vermouth) Bianca Sweet
Hennessy VSOP Cognac
Illy Coffee Liqueur
Jim Beam Whisky 1.5 bottles
Martini Rosso
Tia Maria
Triple Sec .5 bottle

There should be a MYOD party coming up! Mix Your Own Drinks, that is.

This Mixilator thing is really fun!

My favorite Absolut is Mandarin. And not just because I adore watching Chinese TV (as long as it’s not subtitled in a language I know). BTW, every time I hear Cinzano a certain memory is triggered: I was at a wedding that had an open bar; but as I was ordering my Cinzano I wanted to make sure so I asked the barista lady if it was complimentary; she replied that no, it was a sweet vermouth.

An open bar I wonder if it’s costly to have one at my wedding. It’s gonna be on April 01 next year, btw.

We’ve just booked the venue.

Am i invited to your wedding? I’ll be Ren’s date.

Sure, this is one wedding where all dogs will be invited. I think Ren has to double up as my hand bouquet though.

I entered “something simple” in Mixilator and it came up with a cocktail that requires Blueberry Schnappes!! Does anyone actually have that?

The Metropolis images are cool though.

Congrats on choosing the date!
April 1 is definitely cool.

BTW, what happened with Cheshire?

Posted by: Hrant at December 10, 2004 09:58 AM

April 01 is Ren’s birthday. When we got her, no one knew when her birthday was, but we were told that she was about three months old, so we just worked backwards and made her an April Fool.

Chesh? I’m not sure. Has he been posting to typophile?

I forget when he said his honeymood was.

BTW, I don’t know when Garmir’s birthday is either. And I can’t even work it backwards to a precise month… I just know that when I got him from the shelter (I was his third owner) my wife was on her first solo trip after our marriage and he was about 9 months old then. That would be the best key for me to remember his birthmonth… except I don’t remember when my wife took that trip! :-/ But I do know he’s pretty healthy (must be the diet), even though he’s over 9 now - knock on wood.

Well, yes, it can be pretty pricey, but perhaps you could consider just having beer free. That choice can cut down on a lot of the expese. Just a thought.
