How’s the Weather?
“The Twin typeface project is an experiment. Commissioned by the Design Institute of the University of Minnesota, this typeface is as much a toy as it is a serious typographic tool. Rather than define and design one single characterset, LettError drew as many alternatives for each character as they could find. Over 800 different designs in total. The Alternator software then selects the right shapes for the right occasion. This website offers some controls for the Alternator, you can set your text and tweak the sliders. Or just look at how the weather affects the design.”
Designed by the same guys who gave us Beowolf (1989) a font built with a randomisation routine. Read the story behind the name Beowolf.
