The Heart
The heart has its reasons, which reason knows nothing of.
– Blaise Pascal
Karen, you’re getting into French philosophers? They’re amazing. Voltaire is actually my favorite, Baudelaire is killer, but JJ Rousseau generally pisses me off. As for Pascal, he’s the author of one of my most favorite quotes of all time:
“Things are at their best in their beginning.”

What a coincidence then that I decided to use a Voltaire quote for the Mana setting. I study a bit of French, but I can’t really say I’m into the philosophers. There’s a poem by Baudelaire that I liked though. See if I can dig it up.

One of my favourites:
“Hell is other people.” — Jean Paul Sarte
