Who compiled the VH1 List?

Recently VH1 compiled their list of top 100 songs from the last 25 years and came up with some strange selections. Take a look at their top 10:

#10 - Like A Virgin (Madonna)
#9 - Every Breath You Take (Police)
#8 - I Will Always Love You (Whitney Houston)
#7 - When Doves Cry (Prince)
#6 - Walk This Way (Run DMC)
#5 - One (U2)
#4 - Lose Yourself Enimem (Various)
#3 - Sweet Child O Mine (Guns & Roses)
#2 - Billie Jean (Michael Jackson)
#1 - Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana)

As with all American-compiled lists, this list is way too American. The only songs I agree with are #1 and #6 for their status as genre-setters (grunge and rap).
How can One be U2’s greatest song? Whitney Houston’s selection? And Prince’s landmark song was Purple Rain, not When Doves Cry. MJ and Madonna are there just like Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks will always be nominated at the Oscars.

Ha ha, this is the only entry in the entire blog that does not come with a link! Here’s the complete list.

Btw I absolutely HATE, and I mean HATE, Hot In Here by Nelly, #65.

Gosh! This list is an embarrasment. Surprise that the Americans did not put Celine Dion on Top 10.

“Whiney” Houston?

Celine’s not there cos she’s Canadian!

I see that my Remember Me function is working too well now. Either that or Pinot speaks very well for a four-year-old. Sounds almost like Amy!

Does it remember everyone?

Back to the discussion: What is this Love Yourself Eminem song at #4? I have never even heard it before! Ever.

It is remembering me! I’m glad I’m not forgotten anymore :)
I haven’t heard that song either, but the name Eminem is enough to make my stomach turn.

One IS U2’s best song.
How can any one leave out the Basildon boys?
Are people people?

To me it’s With Or Without You. Totally original song.

DM should be there. Which song though? In my opinion, Black Celebration is still their best work, with Music for the Masses a close second.

“I’m not trying to tell you anything you didnt know when you woke up today…”
