Pining for Pineapple
My tongue is bleeding from a pineapple cut.

Posted by: jimmy at September 22, 2003 11:04 PMYeah, I suppose I should be thanking my lucky stars it’s not a snickersnee either.

There
are
many
reasons
I don’t
write
love
poems.
Right now,
though,
I’d like
a
single
reason
to
write
one.
let me offer u some…
(1) Bcos it has been 15 years since u last received one.
(2) Bcos u have finally found your muse for one.
and finally,
(3) Bcos we all like simple harmonic motion which culminates to one huge resonance.
Posted by: JO at October 9, 2003 06:13 PMJoanna, assumptions (1) and (2) are both wrong.
I never had trouble finding muses.
But I do think that the plural of muse should be mise, because they sometimes turn into rats.
300 Love Letters. For die-hard romantics only. Still haven’t read one that I would like to have received. Maybe these things are only nice when they are meant for you.
actually i think the plural of muse is still muse. amused?
Posted by: jimmy at October 10, 2003 06:33 PMI don’t really think there’re a million poems, but….
Posted by: Karen at October 25, 2003 03:37 AMagree with u
Posted by: lexapro at November 2, 2003 02:30 AMHi Lexapro, are you a bot? You don’t behave like one. What are you agreeing with? That “love is like a pineapple?” or that there isn’t a million poems? Or is that just a smart thing to say at a forum?
Anyway, we’re all happy and well-adjusted and will not be needing Prozac or Viagra anytime soon. So thanks for visiting.
Oh you are a bot! Boo.
What do you know, I’m a bot too!
I wasn’t fooled at all. Oh no, not me. :-/
Well, just for agreeing with whatever I won’t delete your post. The last bot that was here got deleted in 5 seconds flat.
Posted by: Karen at November 3, 2003 09:20 PMThe plural of muse is muses, as in, “the nine muses.”
I remember sending that poem to 3am, but I don’t remember what I was thinking/feeling when I wrote it. This leads me to guess it was fiction, but I could be wrong. I think I wrote it in the fall of 2003, which would have meant I received my last love poem in July, 2003. I don’t normally use the modern definition of the word “muse,” but the whole point was that I didn’t have one. Again, could have been fictional. I don’t know what “we all like simple harmonic motion which culminates to one huge resonance” means, but I assume it has to do with fucking. I try not to talk about metaphysics when I’m fucking, unless I’m on MDMA, in which case you can’t shut me up. One could suggest this as a reason that I haven’t got love poems in 15 years, except I have.
I’m inclined never to Google my name again, but I did learn the word “snickersnee” here. I don’t like Gilbert and Sullivan.
Posted by: Jonathan at December 8, 2003 08:21 AMBy the way, I’m actually on lexapro. 10mg every morning. The first antidepressant that works for me, and I’ve tried more than a dozen.
Of course, I wasn’t here when you responded to that bot.
